Attention Kroger customers

When you have only a handful of items (say, 5 or less), it doesn't make much sense to stand in the checkout line behind someone with 30 or more items. Especially when there are those handy self-checkout lanes open.

Well, unless you really, REALLY like standing and waiting in lines.

You're also assuming that a lot of people know how to operate a self-checkout line. There are some who don't. I've had to show people how they work.

Yeah, we usually call that one the line ride! Oh yeah WAY fun! I also love the ones that get in the 5 items or less line with a basket load! Ugh!

There's also certain people who deal with the vagaries of computers ALL DAY and when they go to a grocery store, want somebody else to do it.

Cow doesn't know who these people are, though.

The Land of Topiary uses a time-honored system of shopkeepers waiting on customers.

Moo!
